CX manager & race game

A cyclocross (cyclo-cross) racing and management game: manage your career as a crossman / crosswoman, simulate every lap and climb the online ranking.

Cyclocross is boss preview

Two ways to play

A quick race for a burst of sprinting, or a full manager career to become the boss of cyclo-cross.

Pick your rider, a cyclo-cross circuit, and start the race: no save file, no fuss, with a race simulation that forgives nothing.

Your crossman or crosswoman, your team

In this cyclocross game, pick from more than 550 male and female cyclo-cross riders and their teams. The game is mixed, with men’s and women’s races and bunches, from rookie manager to seasoned crossman.

  • Detailed rider sheets: 16 physical, technical and mental stats
  • Teams from many nations, with their average level
  • Men and women, in bunches that never mix

A simulation with real breath

Endurance, anaerobic capacity, lucidity, heart rate: in this cyclocross simulation game, every effort has a price. Mud that builds up, fatigue and lapses in concentration make the difference between a great result and a slide down the standings.

  • Four effort levels — Recovery, Economical, Sustained, All out — each with a real cost in heart rate and endurance
  • Four living gauges during the race: heart rate (BPM), anaerobic reserve, lucidity and endurance
  • Lucidity that wears down and never comes back: manage your race from the start
  • Start, attacks with a limited quota, and a final sprint

Decisions that matter

Inside or outside line, sheltered or up front before a corner, riding or running through sand or mud, carrying on or changing bike in the pits: races are also won with the head. Every choice has its risks — crash, getting bogged down, traffic jams — and its rewards.

  • Line choice: inside, middle or outside, with the risk of crashing or getting bogged down
  • Before a corner: stay sheltered or force your way to the front, at the risk of a traffic jam
  • Sand, mud, planks: ride or run depending on the state of the ground
  • Pit zones: carry on or change bike

Quick Simulation mode

No time to steer every segment? Launch the quick simulation: the race runs by itself, you get your result in a few seconds and compare your performance with the online ranking. Ideal for trying out a rider, a team or a circuit.

  • No decisions to make, no save file
  • The result and final standings in a few seconds — or watch the race as a spectator
  • Result can be synced to the online ranking
  • The ideal way to discover the cyclocross game

Tactical mode

Become the sports director of your race: set your instructions with a few sliders and a box of intentions, then watch your strategy play out on the circuit. The perfect mode for management and tactics fans.

  • Effort: from Economical to All out
  • Lines: from clean to fast
  • Pit strategy: early, normal or late
  • Positioning: stay sheltered or move up, with a box to catch nearby groups
  • Live race playback with pause and x1 / x2 / x4 speed

Segment mode

The finest mode of the cyclo-cross game: a decision at every segment of the circuit. Line, effort, attack, pit stop… you steer your rider corner after corner, from mud to sand, managing your gauges.

  • A decision at every segment: line, effort, attack
  • Every terrain has its own options: grass, dirt, mud, sand, woods, off-camber, stairs…
  • Autopilot available when you want to catch your breath
  • The mode for simulation and strategy fans

A bunch that plays against you

Every rider moves at their own pace: the gaps are real, groups form and break up, and every AI-controlled opponent has a style and a race plan. A real cyclo-cross bunch, never frozen.

  • Adaptive AI: attacks, chases, effort management, drafting in small groups
  • Realistic fields for the race level, men and women always kept apart
  • Standings, gaps and groups updated live
  • Pulled out of the race when lapped

My race: the race report

At the finish, find the story of your race: your podium, your duel with your rival, your progress lap after lap and your sports director’s advice. Every cyclocross race tells a story.

  • Race story, best and worst lap, best progress
  • Duel with your rival and gap in the standings
  • Race records and best team-mate
  • Top 10 and full standings

Circuits for every taste

Mud, sand, woods, stairs, planks, off-camber, asphalt, gravel: a long list of circuits inspired by the world of cyclocross, with their terrain profile, weather and race level. Open a circuit to see its details.

  • Very different circuits, from major international races to regional ones
  • Detailed terrain profile: surfaces, technical corners, off-camber, stairs
  • Filters by race level and country
  • Variable weather and ground conditions

Scouting the circuit is where strategy begins

Before the start, take the time to scout the cyclocross circuit: strategy is prepared before the first pedal stroke. Test your tyre choices, see how the hardest sections go and decide where you will have to give everything and where you can save yourself.

  • Test the tyre pressure: high, medium or low depending on the terrain and the weather
  • Pick the type of tread: fast-rolling, intermediate or mud
  • Spot the hardest sections: technical corners, off-camber, stairs, planks, sand, mud
  • Circuit profile and weather in front of you: surfaces, difficulties, ground condition
  • Prepare your race decisions before the start

The online ranking

Every race, solo or in career, earns points in the overall ranking. They depend on your finishing position (up to 50th), the race class, the rider’s real strength on race day (form, fatigue, morale, illness, talents… applied), the level of the 3 best opponents and the field size: winning with an underdog is worth more than winning with the favourite.

Men and women are ranked together: the strength of the rider you pick levels the points. The overall score takes the number of races into account: you can rank well after 10 races just as after 70.
